I know there’s been a sudden influx of Marvelman on this blog, but I just remembered how awesome it is the other day. Especially moments like this - one of the best pages I’ve ever seen, for a combination of looking badass and just the “oh shit” factor. Absolutely phenomenal combination of Garry Leach’s artwork and Alan Moore’s writing. This right here is comic book gold.

I wonder what would have happened if Warrior magazine had stayed in print - I’ve only read the later reprints of stories like V for Vendetta and Marvelman, which were never finished in the original title as Quality Communications went bankrupt, but that’s not a bad class of output to judge a company on by any stretch. I might try and pick up some of these if I can ever afford it - They look classic, and have that old British comic vibe about them which I love.
